As more people take to the trails and wilderness in Man-
itoba parks, more people are coming into contact with
bears and there are important safety tips to follow.
More people are taking advantage of Riding Mountain
National Park’s hiking trails as the pandemic forces people
to get outside, park resource management officer Tim Sal-
lows said, which inevitably brings them into contact with
all kinds of wildlife — bears included.
“Bears are in the park and people are seeing them — and
they’re letting themselves be seen,” he said.
“I’m not sure there are any more bears than usual, but
